Description
Microcrystalline Cellulose can be used for many purposes, such as an anti-caking agent, stabilizer, texture modifier, or suspending agent among other uses. However, one of its more common uses is as an excipient in the pharmaceutical industry as it has excellent compressibility properties and is used in a wide variety of oral solid dosage forms, including tablets (creates hard, yet easily dissolvable tablets), capsules, sachets, pellets and others.
Microcrystalline Cellulose 101 exhibits excellent properties as an excipient (filler) for solid dosage forms. It compacts well under minimum compression pressures, has high binding capability, and creates tablets that are extremely hard, stable, yet disintegrate rapidly. These properties make Microcrystalline Cellulose 101 (MCC101) particularly valuable as a filler and binder for products prepared for direct compression. It has also been shown to be stable, safe and physiologically inert.
